Where to learn about strumming patterns?

How do I figure out strumming patterns?

  • I've been teaching myself how to play guitar for the past few weeks. But whenever I look up chords to songs I want to learn, it says nothing about strumming patterns. It gets confusing sometimes.

    i had the same problem buddy! but here's a strumming pattern i would like you to know.....might help u out! here goes.. Down --- Down+Up ---- Down ---- Down+Up ---- Down ---- Down+Up try it...works out for most songs....also focus on the tempo of the song that u r willing to learn....and try to come up with some of your own strumming patterns too....it helps a lot....keep on EXPERIMENTING !!! there isnt a set strumming pattern to every individual song, when you learn the chords just strum along to it and have a play about with different techniques. you havent been playing long but you will have your own way of strumming in no time :)
