Transfer paper for the black hoodie?

How can I transfer images onto fabric besides transfer paper?

  • Are there any other ways besides transfer paper? Because I would like to make my own shirts, but I don't like the texture that transfer paper has. It makes it seem like the image is just kinda stuck to the shirt as opposed to part of it. I would like to be able to make a shirt where the image is IN the fabric, if you know what I mean. Thank you, people.

  • Answer:

You can use fabric paint (or acrylic paint mixed with fabric painting medium) to paint the image into the fabric. You can use fabric dyes and screen printing http://www.instructables.com/id/Screen-Printing%3a-Cheap%2c-Dirty%2c-and-At-Home/ and http://diyfashion.about.com/od/dyingandscreenprinting/ss/ScreenPrint.htm There are also techniques using gel transfer medium, freezer paper, packaging tape, or printer-friendly fabrics.
