How to make meltable soap?

No, I'm not talking about BUYING melt and pour bases to make soap. I want to MAKE the base itself. How can I make a meltable soap? Pretend I want to sell a melt and pour base. I need to make the base, right? YES. I don't intend to buy a base and sell it, so I need to make it. The only recipe I have EVER found will cost me 20 bucks and I'd rather go out and buy supplies with that money. Does CP or HP glycerin soap melt? What DOES melt that isn't a comercially sold base? (because, remember, I want to make the base, not buy a base)

Sorry, I've made regular soap but have not had an interest in taking it to the glycerin level. However, there's a ton of information available on the Internet, and it doesn't sound all that expensive. You make soap, you refine it into glycerin soap. If you are going to MAKE the base, then you are going to start with fat and alkali (lye, etc.) and saponify the fat into soap and then wash to drive off the harsh alkali. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saponification The result is melted and poured. Presumably you educate yourself as to the perfumes, oils, and fat choices to make a unique and wonderful product. Of course, doing that is going to cost far more than the $20 they wanted for recipe.
