- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2016I have been doing a ton of research for making homemade soaps...this book was very informative for me...I had a little trouble with the conversion tables...trying to figure out which table to use...especially since the proof of alcohol is totally not available in Michigan where I lived...I thought I had figured out the recipe and wound up adding this and more of this and some more of this...it was quite a long drawn out process for me...would have been so much easier if there would have been a better conversion table for much lower proof alcohol...my soap turned out I would say mostly transparent....it had a sort of yellow haze to it...now that I have moved to Missouri and the correct proof is readily available...I can just use the standard recipe....yeah!!!!!...otherwise a very good informative book...would recommend it to anyone trying to make transparent soap as long as they can get the correct proof...even for beginners like me
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2015I expected a different book, but its just an old edition of the same book by Failor but without the color photos and in a smaller size. It has some good info on technics, tips, tools and ingredients and its focused mostly on decorative soap. If you are interested mainly in transparent soap, its ok. You wont waste your money.
