Spiritually speaking, does the lack of dark matter in the universe prove God exists?
-
90% of the universe is missing. Mathematically, the universe cannot exist because there is not enough matter/energy for it to be possible. Scientists have postulated that there is dark matter in the universe, which they cannot see, making up a huge portion of the missing matter/energy. They recently discovered the the expansion of the universe is accelerating, which can account for part of the missing matter/energy, but that still leaves something on the order of 40-60% missing, which they relegate to dark matter. The problem is that they have never scientifically proven that dark matter exists, have never seen it. Therefore, they believe in it by faith (faith is the evidence of things unseen). Christians believe the universe is held together by the power of God (Christ upholds all things by the word of His power). Seeing as science requires faith to believe in the existence of the universe, Is it really a religion? Just like Christianity? FAITH

Answer:
Having faith in something not seen doesn't make it a religion. BUT, it's still faith. Just like they continue to believe there were transitional beings yet have never seen one. ||edit|| the lack of evidence in these matters do provide support that there's a Creator: Genesis 1:11-12 11Then God said, "Let the earth sprout (A)vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them"; and it was so. 12The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:21-25 21God created (A)the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good. 22God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." 23There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. 24(B)Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind"; and it was so. 25God made the (C)beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

They can prove dark matter exists through gravitational lensing...so they have evidence for its existence... God, on the other hand, is still stingy with that elusive evidence...

no they come with ideas and test them thats not faith magic sky man requires faith lack of dark matter means there is none, they have discovered dark matter just not enough to account for it does not mean its not out there, its really interesting i saw a show on how they can detect it by how it bends light

Your argument is a fallacy. Even if dark matter doesn't exist it doesn't prove that god exist nor it's non existent. "The problem is that they have never scientifically proven that dark matter exists" False, scientist may have not visually proven that they exist but Newtonian mechanics tells us that velocity dispersion on from spiral galaxy shows the presence of dark matter.
Alphatetic
We had never seen neutrinos either, but the equations said they had to exist. Same thing with dark matter. Just because we haven't detected it yet doesn't mean we won't.
Bowen
Of course not. It ain't like we can't see the effects of the Dark Matter. We can tell it's gravity is there, no faith required. We just haven't figured out another way to detect it directly yet. The only way it would even be evidence of God would be if you were contending that God was gravity.
Gazoo
Actually, you are wrong. They have proven dark matter exists, they simply cannot see it. It is known to exist through gravitational lensing.

they have a theory... not a faith theories...can be disproven...and the real facts replace them. and they will be tested again...and if those theories prove incorrect they will change again. because you cant explain something doesnt mean "god did it"

Someone get this guy a dictionary, and a book about dark matter.
Zen
maybe you should stop relying an science altogether and trust in god and see how you manage. no medicine. no technology. no progress.
