How do big ships float?

There is a famous question that why a needle sinks where as a big ship floats. ARCHIMEDE'S PRINCIPLE When a rigid object is submerged in a fluid (completely or partially), there exits an upward force on the object that is equal to the weight of the fluid that is displaced by the object. When the weight of the object is more than the weight of the water displaced, object sinks and when the weight of the object is less than the amount of water displaced, objects floats. In case of needle, weight of the needle is MORE than the weight of water displaced, hence sinks. Whereas weight of the ship is LESS than the amount of water displaced, hence floats. When you load further weight/cargo inside the ship, she submerges more and displaces more amount of water but remains afloat.

Any object placed on the surface of water sinks into the water due to gravitational pull(that is due to its weight). During the process water is displaced. Displaced water tries to occupuy the original shape. The net result is that an upword force acts on the object.(buoyant force). This force increases as more and more water is displaced. If the force becomes equal to the weight of the object then the object is in equilibrium. If not the object continues to sink in to the water. The ships shape is such that for a small depth of sinking large quantity of water is displaced.Therfore it floats.

Because of bio-force of water these kind of objects can floot on water. (1) it should be hollow from inside and vacumed. (2) it should density should be that it can flow on water.
