How can I gain work experience in a primary school?
-
I'm currently doing a degree and I'm hoping to do PGCE (a one year post grad teacher training course for those outside the UK) when I've completed it. I want to work with children aged 7-11 so I'm going to try and get experience in a primary school. How is best to do this? Should I ring the schools before hand or write in?

Answer:
Just ring up some local schools and you shouldn't have any problems, primary schools can have quite a few volunteers. Alternatively, you can visit www.do-it.org.uk, select "Education" from the drop down list, type in your postcode and see what's available. You can also apply for a TA job at some point after university if you like. Good luck.
