A weird crusty dry bump on the back of a leg?

Weird bump on my leg.......could this be cancer?

  • On my left leg, I just noticed a bump their yesterday. I have no idea what it is or how I got it, alothugh it wouldn't be out of the question that I just bumped my knee into something and forgot about it. It's the size of a very big mosquito bite (very big one). It hurts a little bit. When I am on my knees, it does hurt to be in that position because I am putting pressure on it. It does not itch. Basically, it's just a red bump on my knee that hurts. I realize this could be a normal bump but for some reason, it looks and feels different than a normal bump. What could this be? Does this fit any signs of cancer? And if not, do you have any other ideas as to what it could be?

  • Answer:

I don't think it would be cancer. I would assume that you just bumped it. Sometimes injuring your knees or ankles or wrists can cause weird large lumps, where a normal bruise would be soft and swollen feeling. I wouldn't worry about it. But if in the next week or two you don't see improvement, or if it gets worse quickly, I would go to your doctor to make sure it's not an infection or something worse. Good luck!
