Where can I employ a private research assistant?

Research assistant. be worthwhile in the end?

• I was offered 2 jobs, 1 job is as a research assistant paying 8.50 an hour, 7 months and no benefits and the other is a office assistant for a trucking company for 10.00 hour with full benefits. I have a bachelors in sociology and haven't had much luck finding work here in Nevada. :( I am willing to take the research assistant position because it is remotely related to my degree mainly because I am hoping that the 7 months doing this will get me a better job when I am done with it. What do you think? What I just be wasting my time and throwing away a better opportunity for nothing? Please help and give your advice. I am so confused! Thank you so much I feel so lost. Making 8.50 is a huge sacrifice for me.

  Having a bachelors in sociology is worth as much as the paper it is written on. You need to go on and get your masters or doctorate. It really depends on what kind of job you want. You need to find a way to put yourself in front of people that might know other people and help you along. Neither pay is great. I'd be a research assistant for the university and go back to school for a higher degree.
