Unemployment Benefits after a temp job?

1 week temp job = more than 1 week unemployment. Will I lose more than one weeks benefits?

  • I'm in California and have a 5 day temp job that will pay more than one week of Unemployment Benefits. When I report the one week, will I lose more than my one week's benefits because I made more?

  • Answer:

No. And you don't "lose" the money unless you get a job, it gets added on to the end of your claim. For example: your initial claim is for 52 weeks but only includes enough money to pay you for 26 weeks. Since you didn't take the one week pay, you will still get 26 weeks of pay but it will be paid over 27 weeks.
