Portal 2 Region Locked for PC!?

• Hello, I bought Portal 2 in another country, and Steam won't let me play it, because it's apparently region-locked, even though it doesn't say on the box. I tried contacting Valve, but after making me wait for a week, they said they can't do anything and I have to get a refund. What they don't understand is that I am in a different country from where I bought it, and can't travel there again for a while. Is there anything I can do to bypass the region lock? Since I already own the game, would it be legal to torrent it? I have never used torrents, but since I actually bought the game, is it ok? Thanks!

  You have bought the game so YEs you can torrent it but I recommend another means. Use http://www.steampowers.net?join=7293 to earn enough points to get the game (the price dropped last week). It will only take a few days. If you pirate it, you won't be able to play coop via steam.
