There's a skunk in my yard!?

Be careful because the skunk, being out in the daylight, could be sick. You should call animal control services if it is acting very strangely. You could use a live skunk trap to humanely remove / relocate the skunk. They make one where you don't come in contact with the animal! Why he is there is any ones guess. However he is just doing what skunks do during the day......Sleeping. Their sight is poor so he may not even realize that he is in your back yard. Just leave him alone and most likely after dark he will move along.

if you would like to remove the skunk then it will need to be relocated far away for your location to prevent the skunk from returning. it would be best to ask a Professional to carry out this task as you may cause injury to yourself or the animal and you could possibly relocate the animal in an unsuitable location where its survival is uncertain. good luck :)

I was watchng something on PBS the other day about skunks, and they said the best way to get them out of the yard, its to put a radio out there with some rap on, and turn the bass up. They dont like the "boom boom" sounds.. so they will wander off and find somewhere else to sleep. Good Luck!

If a skunk is acting this strangely, I would suspect rabies...call the local sheriff/police and they should be able to give yuo an emergency number for county animal control. By all means STAY AWAY and moniter form a distance to keep track of it so you can inform animal control when they get there. Also keep all pets inside.
