Is There a Non-Commercial Search Engine?

Will content you post on public Facebook pages be indexed by search engine?

  • If you post content on public Facebook pages such as "open" groups, does such info get indexed by search engine even if you disabled your public search listing? From the Facebook Help Section, it say" When users post content to an open forum on the site (i.e., Facebook Pages, the "Questions and Answers from Users" section of the Help Center, "Open" Groups), this material may also be indexed by search engines. Unfortunately, Facebook does not have control over content that has already been indexed and cached in search engines. If you no longer wish for this content to appear in search engine results, please delete it from the forum to which you originally posted it. Doing so will render the link that appears in search engine results invalid." It does not mention whether the above is true even if your public search listing is disabled. I'm assuming it's true even if public search listing is disabled, because it doesn't mention it. Am I right?

  • Answer:

Yeah, sure. Your posts in public groups will be indexed. You may check it on Facebook Search site listed below. It uses Google search engine for searching around Facebook pages.
