"Always show these friends" does not save on facebook?

Why is it that the same people show up in the new facebook friends list?

• I've come to the conclusion that yeah it takes the people you do the most interacting with nd that it doesn't put the people whose profile that you look most at either. BUT there is a guy that I was messaging on and off on facebook due to living 12 hrs away, nd soon we just stopped. I noticed that he would appear in the new friends list, nd I'd frequently would look at his profile, so I thought it was people's profile that I looked at last. The thing is though, I'd look at other people's profile (people that usually don't reply back) nd write on their walls, but they wouldn't show up in my friends list, so that was out of the equation. So right now it's people that I actually DO interact with (both sides), nd him.. who I hardly have interacted on FB for awhile. So can people show up in your friends list if your checking out their profile, while they are too? Cause I'm usually always appearing in his friends list when I check also.

Examples of public interactions include Wall posts, comments and mutually attended events — Facebook will never show friends based on whose profiles you choose to view or who you interact with over messages and chat.”
