Making an account with skype and having trouble?

I just got a webcam for christmas and it says it will connect with skype facebook etc. i already have the webcam working on my computer and its functioning properly, but i hit make an account on skype and it says this will take a minute or two and it loads. It won't stop loading from there. I've restarted it many times and still just loads for thirty minutes or more before i restart it again. could someone please help? thank you

Never had any trouble downloading and then installing Skype. If you mean you're having trouble signing on, that does take a while the first time, like 2-3 minutes rather than the usual 15-20 seconds

I got a new computer for Christmas too and I had to actually download skype to install it. My computer had a button to click to supposedly install skype, but, it didn't work. Go to http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-computer/windows/ and download the free version of Skype and install it from there. The rest is easy!
