I cant open internet explorer.

Why cant I open my Internet Explorer shortcut or Mozilla Firefox shortcut?

  • When I go to open my Mozilla or internet explorer, it says that I need to open with recommended programs? When I choose a program such as Internet Explorer a larger window (a normal internet browsing window) flashes and then it disappears and 2 smaller windows open up, one saying file download and one in-front of that saying file download-security warning. In the security warning window it asks me if i want to run or save this file with the file name: firefox.exe, the type: application, 902kb and from: C:\program files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox? I have clicked on both and either it brings me back to the open with window when i choose run or if i choose save it brings me to a save window and I have tried to save to desktop but it does not work!!!!!!

it sounds like you may have accidently deleted a file you need to run the programs. if you havent typed up a best selling novel today, go to start > programs > system restore (then follow it through to restore your computer to yesterday or another day when it was working properly) sorry this is the only suggestion i have so i hope it works!

try reinstalling either of the programs or go to task manager and processes and end the processes and try opening them again.
