Does Hotmail still have automatic account closing?

How to stop all emails to hotmail?

• I tried closing my hotmail account but cant i get this message ""One or more paid services or a Microsoft Points account is linked to your account. To close this account, make sure each service is canceled and your Microsoft Points account is closed"" i tried many times closing this old account but no success, ive read peoples responses to the customer info section they have. but Microsoft seems not able to get the result there customer wants. so does anyone know how can i stop all the email going to my old email account? HATE MICROSOFT Microsoft pisses me off so much not hard to see why i moved to mac :) and getting all my friends on to them, i wonder how many people around the world are doing this too, microsoft better get there act together! coz the only thing they listen to is $$$$ how u going to make dollars without customers

  If you don't want to use your Hotmail account, just abandon it. You may still get some mails to it but if you've told everyone your new email address, they'll stop using the Hotmail one eventually. I keep several email accounts...one for work/business, one for personal and another for sites that require an email address because I know those site will be sending me tons of spam mail. I don't even check the junk mail account.
