Whats the best way to heal a tattoo?

You need to wash it gently with non-scented soap like Dial a few times a day, and after that, apply a thin layer of Aquaphor. Don't cover it up again, let the air hit it but keep it clean. After it stops peeling like a sunburn, you can switch to a regular lotion instead of the Aquaphor. I know it's frustrating to hear a lot of different options, and maybe more than one of them work, but this is what worked for me! Good luck!

Solar oil, the BEST thing out there. It's a conditioner for cuticles and nails, but it works amazing on tattoos. Both my mom and I used it for our tattoos. Every time we used it our tattoo didn't peal, wasn't red after we got it done, didn't itch as often as it should. I don't know where to get it though. You can search online, or go to Sally's.

Keep on the plastic and vasaline that they seal you with over-night. The next morning go right to the shower and wash it completely off. Don't scrub it or do anything dumb like that. Then apply a water-based lotion to it 3-5 times a day depending on your skin. It has to stay moisturized to aid in the healing process and the reduction of itchyness. Don't scratch (duh). Don't go into standing water for 3 weeks (the shower is fine, and the best way to keep your tat clean) to prevent infection.
