Why do my ankles and legs feel so stiff and sore?

I workout Monday - thursday weights and I play basketball weekends but my ankles feel really tight and stiff and my legs feel stiff and weird and I can't run as fast I feel slower why is this? What can I do to help it best answer gets points

If anything, you should ice the effected area. For soreness you should R.I.C.E (rest, ice, compression, elevation) Heat is a vaso-dilator so it wouldn't be a good idea to apply it on sore muscles, which are sore because of micro-tears in the muscles. I would also recommend seeing your doctor if this problem lasts more than 72 hours because that's the maximum your body should be sore.
