SAT II sign up and score system?
-
Hello, I am a sophomore and I am thinking about taking the SAT II for Chemistry or World History The last day of registration is approaching soon in a couple of days, and I am wondering these things: Since there is a "score choice" option, does that mean if you do badly on the SAT II Subject Tests then you don't have to send them in to colleges? My guidance counselor told me that I do infact have to send in all my scores and they all appear on my resume, so If I get a bad grade I do not want that to appear since I'm trying to get into a competitive college. Also, my counselor said that the colleges will just take whichever is the higher score, so if I take the test for Chemistry then it will appear on my resume regardless even if I do not plan on majoring in that course ( I do not know what to pursue yet for college), so i'm confused. However, my friends tell me that I don't have to send the scores in. So now I am getting mixed messages and am confused. If my friends are right, does that mean there are no repercussions into taking the Subject Tests? I figure it'd be good to take them now since I will be simutaneously studying for the Chemistry and History finals which both will be in June. However, if I don't do that well and have to send it in it isnt worth it. So my question is, who is right? Do I need to send in all my scores? I am taking Chemistry and Modern World History this year, so it'd be best to take them now while it's fresh in my mind. I do not plan on taking AP Chemistry next year. Chemistry Honors grade = A- Modern World History = B, World History (last year) = A GPA = 4.6 Will I be prepared for these? Or should I just take on of them or not the other? I've looked at the practice test, the questions seem to be the same difficulty on both sides. Anyone who has taken these can give me advice? Thanks!
