What's the difference between SAT and SAT subject tests?

If you take more than enough SAT Subject Tests (SAT II)?

  • If you take more than enough SAT Subject Tests for a college with a minimum amount of tests (like say a specific college X requires 2 SAT Subject Tests), then do you need to send all of your test scores? I know that many colleges allow Score Choice, but which schools (including the Ivy Leagues) do not allow for that? And then also, if you take more than enough and score well in 2 but poorly in a third, then would college X only look at your 2 best if it doesn't allow Score Choice and you have to send in all 3? I guess overall, I'm asking if you take more than enough for a specific college X, can you attempt to save yourself from a single bad grade on an SAT Subject Test?

  • Answer:

any college NOT found on this: http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/sat-score-use-practices-list.pdf website does not use Score Choice (almost all colleges do use it though) All lvy Leagues allow for Score Choice, but if you mean which schools REQUIRE students to send in ALL scores, that will include Cornell. Stanford, though not an Ivy, also requires all students to submit all scores.
