If the entire world became vegetarian, would cows become extinct?
-
Because there's no such thing as a wild cow, wouldn't they become extinct. Nobody would want to have cows because there would be no profit Nd thus they would die. On a side note, I'm a vegetarian that loves cows. I know this is a random question.

they haven't become extinct in India where they are considered sacred and not eaten so I guess that would answer your question...

No, vegetarians can still consume dairy products if they choose which means theoretically cows would still be bred for milk production. I would rather not exist than exist in a life of slavery and confinement to be honest.

No wild cows? Never been out west have ya? Or to India for that matter. The population would certainly see a mass die off but extinction would only occur if humans killed off their nature habitats.
Me
Of course they wouldn't. There are countless people who breed cows not for meat, but for show. There are others who would keep them for the milk (although on significantly reduced scales if they are not allowed to kill the calves like they do right now). So there is no chance they would become extinct. In fact, in regions of India where they are primarily vegetairan cows are sacred and they are worshipped but they have plenty of them without eating them. If you really love cows, you should consider going vegan or at east giving up dairy. Producing the quantities that they do in the developed countries is unsustainable unless they kill the cows since they have to produce calfs to get the milk.

No, there would still be cows. Cows are not only used for meat. And anyways, if try were, vegetarians wouldn't jut let them die out.

There's a lot of animals that no race eats that aren't extinct.

It depends on the situation of the matter. If we all became vegetarians at the same time then I believe that around 75% of the species would die and the strongest would adapt to the situation. On the other hand if we took the slow road and paced ourselves then the majority of the population of the species would live. Also on another note i believe the government would have some type of legislation to prevent the extinction of the species.
