If something is stolen a week ago can it be reported to the police?

  • My neighbors house was broken into last summer and $1300 was stolen. About a week ago their house was broken into again and a straightener and some jewelry was stolen but was returned. My neighbors can't find a couple other things and they are just now reporting it to the police but they have no evidence that the same person took their other things. Can the police do anything at this point. Just curious. Thanks.

But, the chance of catching the suspect will be very slim because since one week is past. What I can say now is when you suspect a crime, call the police immediately... Wait no longer.

um yes you can report a crime from a week ago idk why theyd wait. the sooner its reported the quicker they can hopefully find the person that did it. i hope your not feeling guilty?
