Amount of time to sleep?

Whats the healthy amount of time you should sleep?

  • How long do you sleep for? how do you feel during the day? :- I went to sleep at 12.15 last night, woke up at 5.45, not feeling tired, and that's a first for me. I'm wondering why?

    It depends on your age. Children and teenagers need more sleep than adults to be their best - 10 hours would be ideal - but most teenagers don't have the time! Adults should sleep about 7 hours and elderly people about 5 to 6. You are probably in peak physical health right now, and that's why you weren't tired. But, you will feel it the next night!

I've heard that 8 hours is what you need. You were probably awakened by a noise (maybe the neighbors), and you probably didn't feel tired (yet) because you had reached your REM sleep. Nerves get stressed during the day and so they need the rest, but your body also needs the rest so that you can eliminate properly and not tax your heart.

8-10+ hours is good. I usually go to sleep like at 11 n wake up at 6 am. I feel really tired the whole morning but wide awake during the day. It's like an everyday thing. Well it's your first time so I guess it's usual. If ur guna star doing that more often ur body will be more n more tired. I noticed on me bcoz my vaines from my eyes stand out & there really red. It wOnt go away but bcoz I dnt get enough sleep. they used to be clear n white...anyways, it was ur first time n u weren't tired. That's good. Y would u want to be? Maybe u had caffeine or sugar? The healthy average amount us right hours although certain people do well with less.If you normally asleep more you will probably need to catch up later in the day.

it happens with me too....!!! well textbooks say average sleeping time for an adult is about 6-8 hours at night and about half an hour during the day...its ok to lse some sleep ull cath up wih it later
