How to do a good toe touch?

  • I need a good toe touch before school starts (in 3 weeks) for cheer. I'm not that flexible. Ive been doing cheer since I was 6 and I'm 13 I stopped doing cheer for a year and stopped stretching (because I'm stupid) and now I'm back in cheer and I can't do my toe touches, their horrible! So I was wondering if you could give me tips and stretches for a good toe touch in a matter of 3 weeks. thanks! (:

    Okay, you might not get it perfect in 3 weeks, but you can improve a lot. You need to start stretching daily, if not twice a day. Do the butterfly, frog (like a reverse butterfly while laying on your stomach) straddle, straddle with your butt and legs against the wall (let gravity pull your legs down) and middle splits What is even more important for toe touches than flexibility is strength. Start doing squats and lunges to build up strength in your legs. Also, do pilates or sit-ups, because you'll need core strength as well. And work on toe touch drills.
