Small bone chip in the elbow?

Possible bone chip in elbow?

  • two thursdays ago i landed on my elbow during a hockey game. the next day it swelled up with fluid and we went to see a doctor. the ER doc said it was fine and the fluid would go away on its own. they took and xray and they didnt see anything. but now its been over 10 days (how long they said it would take for the fluid to evacuate) and my elbow has only gotten worse, plus i can feel a chip of bone in there. its not painful unless i touch it or lean against it. should i go see my orthopedist? will i need a cast if there is a chip? thanks

  • Answer:

If the ER said there wasnt anything, there isn't. Dont stress out. Just give it time and rest it up. I wouldnt recommend seeing a orthopedist, and they wouldn't give you a cast. Hope I helped.

I have a chip in my elbow from being in many accidents. Don't ignore it. If it's giving you pain then go to the doctor. There's no shame in it. Sometimes ER make mistakes as they did with mine as it wasnt visible at first. Go and get it checked out and if they still cant find anything then invest in some Ibuprofen or other anti-inflamitary pills. I've lived with the chip in my elbow for almost 3 years and the only time i realise it's there is if i bang it so if yours is chipped, you should stop realising it's there soon... hope this helped :)
