Cant lift up front toes?

  • I just came back from a basketball workout. i didnt notice until i started driving but my right toes were having a hard time keeping up off the brake..when i got home i realized that i could not lift my right toes off teh ground and my lower shin on my right leg was really sore. my front of my right foot is now like dragging around when i walk and i cant lift it. is this serious at all? i dont remember hurting myself? how long will it take to go away?

  • Answer:

Jacob, you may have sustained a strain of the tibialis anterior. That is the muscle that lifts up the front of the foot. You also may have been hit around your knee as the nerve, peroneal, that controls that muscle is located on the outside of the lower aspect of the knee. These are injuries that require a doctors intervention. I would strongly suggest that you see your doctor or go to the emergency room if they are not available. Better safe than sorry in this case.
