I have a kenwood amp that puts out 900 watts rms at 2 ohms and 1900 max rating. On certain songs like put on by young jeezy the amp will cut off and cut back on continously during the song. I have 4 guage power and ground wire also a 2 farad capacitor. Have it wired at 2 ohms to two kicker cvrs that handle 420 watts rms each at 2 ohms. The amp never gets too hot but can get warm . It has a built in fan though. What could fix this problem ?

Answer:
it is most likely going into protect because your trying to take to much power from it your subs might be lower than 2 ohms and it could only be stable to 2 ohms try turing the gain down slightly if will be quiter but it wont cut in and out if thats the only song its doing it on then you should probably only have to move it down a little if its doing it on other songs you might have to turn your gain down quite a bit from what ive heard that could possibly damage your speakers so i would get it fixed pronto but im no expert on wether it is damaging your speakers or now

your running the amp at its max potential. (2 ohms is the second highest operating load. 1 ohm being the highest but only some amps are 1 ohm stable.) even tho from song to song you keep ur head unit at the same volume, some songs have harder bass. its probly going into protect mode when it cuts out. play your music like u do when it cuts out and watch your amp. it should have a power light, (green) and a protect light, (red). while its playing the green pwr light should be on... when it cuts out it should go to the red light. it just means your demanding too much from it.
check the gain level on your amp and what its set to... the gain should never be put over 60% otherwise you'll just be pulling too much from it.
