What frequency should i set my amp and headunit to?
-
I have (1) pioneer deh 3300ub, (4) 6.5in Boss chaos speakers, and (1) dualspb8a amp and subwoofer combo. The pioneer headunit has subwoofer 1 and 2 settings needing 1 to activate 2. subwoofer 1 settings are normal, reverse, off. sub 2 settings are 50hz?80hz, 100hz, 125hz. My amp and subcombo has 70hz to 200hz. My question is if I set the headunit to 125hz and amp to 200hz what does that mean? Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and help me, any advice is appreciated.

Answer:
The frequencies determine the low pass cross-over points your amp will play, and your subs will reproduce.. I have 10's and I have my low pass crossover set at 85Hz. If it's low pass, around 80 is good, if it's a high pass crossover, 125hz is good, so no bass goes to your smaller speakers.. Good Luck!
