How come occasionally ill be sitting?

My ducks won't come home?. Could they be sitting on eggs?

• I have 4 ducks (First time i have owned ducks) two male and two female, our neighbour has a pond twice the size of ours so they tend to hang out over there. Normally they come back in the afternoon for food and to nest for the night but one female hasn't come back in nearlly 3 weeks and the other female hasn't for just under a week but both males are coming home, tho yesterday i did spot one over there could they be sitting on eggs??? they are just under a year old and as far as im aware they havn't laid any eggs before. Im a bit worried about them.
