Wireless connection keeps dropping out?

MacBook keeps dropping wireless connection. Help.?

  • Im running SNow Leopard 10.6.1. While I'm surfin' the web, My Macbook keeps dropping connection so I click the AirPort icon at the top of the screen and it says Looking For Networks. If I turn it off and back on the problem is solved for like the next 3 minutes then it happens again. It's making me really mad. Someone please help. -Dane.

  • Answer:

Could be the hot spot (wifi connection) on the router you're connecting to has a very weak signal maybe because it's having issues, or maybe you're too far from the router emitting the signal. A really good router will only emit a wifi connection to maybe 350ft, however, the farther away you are, the weaker the signal becomes. Or, if you're close to the router, could be you're Mac is having hardware issues with the wifi or possibily a driver issue. Perhaps try rebooting your MacBook and see if that helps (this is assuming you were talking about turning off/on the wifi only rather than rebooting your system).
