How do I Increase my Wifi Signal? DI-624 D-Link Wireless router?

I have a D-Link Wireless router DI-624 and I want to boost my wifi signal. It is VERY low and so far I do not have any Software set up for the Router. It is just a wifi hardware. I don't know were to download a firmware and even if so I don't have a CD or a software for the router itself. I currently have a metal bowl wrapped in Aluminum Foil next to my router and It has only helped by like 8%. I can only recieve a LOW wifi signal from one end of a medium sized room to the other. It is the worst. SOMEONE please help me. Be specific and Help me out. Thank you! Windows Xp 2002 Pentium 4 Gateway Service Pack 3 CPU 2.0GHz 512 MB of RAM

Sounds,like you have the signal from another route,not security enabled.Right click on the icon on right side,bottom of computer Wireless Network Connection.On dropdown list left click View Available Wireless Network.To one of those network you will be connected.May be you need tocall rouer company tec support to get help.
