How to transfer installed programs from old computer to new?

Does having more programs installed installed in you're computer slow down you're wifi?

Well my dad gets mad cause I download programs from the computer my grandma bought me. If I have the wifi connection on my computer will it slowdown a wireless laptop if I have more programs installed in my computer if I'm not running these programs I install

    It shouldn't slow down the WiFi but it will slow down your computer making the signal weaker i suggest using a clean up software i use Norton, free download at comcast.net---->security or go to www.cnet.com go to downloads and search for it or just go to control pannel/add or remove programs and manually do it

If you are positive that they are not running then no, they will not interfere with the Wi-Fi. However, considering the fact that you don't know the answer to a question this simple, I'm assuming you aren't particularly good with computers so it's best to be on the safe side and not install these programs. Alot of programs when installed will set themselves to boot on start-up (when you turn the computer on) and will use your internet without ever notifying you. Like I said, unless you know how to disable this (it's pretty easy) it's best to just not have them installed.

It might not slow down the connection, but not running. Well you might not be using them, but they may be running in the back ground with you being aware of it, go do the clean up thing, de frag, dump temp files, run Spybot to get rid of spyware stuff.
