What is my ISP username?

If I reset my router will I lose the ISP username and password?

• I forgot the login to my router setup page. I want to physically reset the router to its default settings and that means that the ISP username and password will be wiped, right? If I connect the dlink router by eternet cable will I be able to enter without a password? Is there any way to enter the router page and recover the information before I reset? Thanks.

  Yes the username will be erased as well as the password when you rest the router. Note that we are talking about two pairs of usernames and passwords here. One is for the router's setup page. The other is with the SSID (Service Set ID) where you see the ISP's name. Actually, routers don't need to have your ISP's name. It was just named as such by the person who set up the router. It can be any name that you like. The name will be detected by your wifi adapter and you will be able to connect to it using the correct passphrase assigned to it. So go ahead and reset it.
