Will my monitor support an HDMI to DVI cable connection with my PS3 if it has a DVI port?

I have a PS3 that i want to connect to my monitor (not HD) but it has a DVI port so I was wondering if I could use a HDMI to DVI cable to connect my PS3 up to my monitor and play my monitor is a Gateway FPD1760

Yes, but you may not be able to play copy protected video, plus you will have to make other arrangements for audio.
