What computer Monitor should I get?

My computer monitor seems to "lag", if you get what I'm saying. How do I get this to stop?

  • The image on the screen seems to drag on, as if it's still loading. The image also seems to "stick". If you get what I'm saying here, I could really use your help. It's very irritating to have a computer that does this.

  • Answer:

Can you bump up the monitor refresh rate? Sometimes if this setting is too low, you will see a ghost image. Desktop Properties (right click on desktop) Settings Advanced Monitor Set Screen Refresh Rate

Update your graphics driver

Mike C

Was it always like this? If so, then you might need to upgrade your graphics card. But first, try updating/reinstalling your graphics drivers.

There are a couple of possibilities. One is that the monitor itself is failing. How old is your monitor? Another possibility is a bad cable between the monitor and the computer, or a bad port/connection. The third, and more likely, is a bad video card. It could be dying gradually. This sounds like something you may want a professional to test for you. (Note I am not a professional, I am just making educated guesses.)
