Will this battery work?
-
My laptop's battery has failed it. It is a 10.8v 4000mAh battery. I went to a local battery shop, and they had an 11.1v 6600mAh battery. My question is this: will the 11.1 volt battery work in place of the 10.8 volt battery? Or will it damage the laptop due to its increased voltage?

Answer:
The Problem Is That We Dont Know What Laptop You Have, If Your Are REALLY Unsure, Call The Company Up And Order a New Battery Directly From Them. Most Laptops Have a Battery That Is Designed Specially For Them. Like My MacBooks Battery. And Yes, You Could Ruin The Battery By Putting It In There, Or Even The Laptop ( I Even Saw a Guy Who Increased The Voltage By 2 volts and BOOM The Laptop Exploded )

I expect the charger and energy management system are built for the 10.8V battery. Even if you can get the 11.1V battery in, I would not expect it to work as well or as long.
