DVD Rom Not Working on Windows XP PC?
-
I have a combination CD-RW/DVD ROM drive on my pc. The CD function works, the DVD function does not. If you insert a DVD, there is noise, but nothing happens. I have tried the following: 1. Removed upper and lower filters (search on google for explanation) 2. Uninstalled and reinstalled DVD Rom in device manager 3. Purchased and installed DVD Decoder Software 4. Updated media player software 5. Physically cleaned dvd rom The CD function still works after all of this, the DVD function still does not. I am trying to avoid having to purchase a new drive. Please provide assistance. One suggestion received was to enable DVD services on pc, but I do not know how to do this. Running Windows XP on Gateway PC with original hardware. Thank you.
