Locked out of Windows XP, how do I get back in?

Windows Xp Home Edition ?

  • Some of you might have seen my other questions? I used a friends Windows Disk and it installed fine. But it says my Product Key has been used to many times.So now in 30 days I'm going to get locked out of windows i guess.So if i go to circuit city and purchase a Windows Xp Home Edition Disk how much do you think it would cost ? And would it be available still? Some have said there not selling it anymore? Lets say i wanted to put Windows Vista on my computer, is that possible? Our would i have to get Windows Xp Home Edition since that's what i already have? Can i buy any Windows Version without having trouble? Any other comments or recommendation please add, Thanks

    any version should be able to install on your PC, i went from vista to XP Professional (because i didnt like vista at all) when your switching to vista though, make sure you modem and other software are vista compatable, otherwise it wont work, i also had this problem, but yes, you should be able to install any version of windows to your PC without any problems, im not sure on the price, maybe ebay has it cheap?

You can buy any windows version without having trouble. Getting the key is most often more expensive than only get the Disk with a key, why I don't know... But I recommend you to get a home edition disk.

Well to answer your question. Since you have loaded your friends Window XP all you have to do to make it work and valid is to call Microsoft and just tell them that you are installing it on a diffenrent computer. For your other questions Vista is told to be able to work on any computer you have to buy the disk but Vista should work on your computer... personally I like Vista better than XP. But I hope that answers your questions!

The best way is to buy online !! although Windows XP home edition is still being sold !! it would cost around 60 to 80 $ but i m not sure !! If u want to buy Vista ur pc must fulfill the vista compatibility issues!! I think windows xp is Okay for u as vista is a bit heavy n complex for normal pc users !! in my opinion Windows XP would be d best choice for u !! Gud luck !!
