Problems with my Internet and windows XP media edition?
-
About a week ago my computer started acting strange. Now it's getting worse. It will not allow any windows updates be installed in the computer. Sometimes the whole thing locks up and I can not click on any icons to get them to work. As far as my Internet goes, it will connect but not show the little computers at the bottom showing it is connected. Then after awhile the browser window will shut off on me. Once it shuts off I can only see my background picture. There are no icons and my start bar disappears. The only thing I can do then is manually shut off the computer and restart it. Another thing with the Internet is sometimes it will be connected but then say it can not open any web pages because of connection issues but there is a connection. Sometimes when I click on the icon to connect to my Internet it will not bring it up so I can't connect at all. It's like something is blocking it. I did have some sort of trojan in my computer right before all this started but McAfee caught it and removed it. I have ran numerous scans since but have come up with nothing. Can anyone help me?

Answer:
Sounds like that trojan removed some of your registry files which is what your computer reads when it starts up or tries to load programs. It will probably be easiest to backup important files on a flash drive and then clear your hard drive and install Windows XP back on it again. Hope this helps.

you have many viruses in your system such as: trojan, worm, win's virus, etc everytime u restart your system u'll get multiple viruses. your McAfee can't remove these viruses bcz these viruses are now stored in your McAfee's folder. McAfee don't scan their own folder but now viruses are there. follow these steps:- 1. backup your all data to secure drive. 2. format your hard-drive 3.install your antivirus 4. restore your data 5. scan your system once
