Why do my computer keeps restarting at startup?

Computer keeps restarting?

  • My other computer keeps restarting.. it's a windows and you turn it on and it gets to the login page before restarting, it keeps doing this until you force turn it off. It was doing this the other day then the next day was working again. How can I fix it since I can't get into anything without it restarting? It's pretty old, we've had it for like 7 years. + I don't want to take it to a computer person because I think it will just do it again

    Yeah. Just open your CPU and clean your ram. That will fix it,hopefully.

first try this insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer. Note:Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted to do so. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console. When you are prompted to do so, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER. this is due to your environment...dust on mother board...just take one blower and remove dust on mother board and also clean the ram slot....

open the cpu dust mother board n rub ram with a rubber

I agree with other its because if dust .If you know open the case and clean mother board.It also happens due to over heat of processor,If you know how to open it remove the processor clean it and re-fix it .It will be helpful to you.If you are using two RAM`s .Remove one RAM and check IF it gets restart or not do the same thing with other ram.I think it will be helpful to you.
