Is gmail down? I restarted the machine. Tried both in mac and win7. Tried restarting modem. Nothing helped.?

It's down all right.

Gmail has been hacked as of recently and despite what they are saying, a lot of private information has been stolen. I would suggest changing your passwords and security hints and you might want to check your credit report too as identity theft is becoming a bigger and bigger problem every year. The official answer is that, they had server problems, its very hard for me to believe that the largest email provider in the world had server problem. I think they got hacked ! Identity theft is getting HUGE!!!! I would do the following: 1. Get a free credit monitoring service you can check your score and monitor fraud go to http://tr.im/freecreditreport If they hacked your email they may have found personal information that they can use to apply for loan in your name, and you will have to pay for it, Eastern European hackers are famous for this. 2. Change all of your passwords including your gmail, I would change the email address on all accounts to a non-gmail account like work email account. This way hackers can't password recover you various online accounts. 3. Watch out for suspicious activity
