Does the new iPod touch 8gb have a mic?

Why doesn't the iPod Touch 4g come with apple remote and mic headset?

• i bought a 8gb ipod touch 4 from best buy and it has a headset but not with mic and remote? am i the only one who didn't get the apple headset with remote and mic? and why doesn't it come with it because iPhone comes with it? i know ipod doesnt need it but the iphone doesnt need it too.

  The iPhone comes with it because it's designed to work with the iPhone, not the iPod Touch. The microphone headset with the iPhone is actually designed for when you drive so you don't have to hold the phone up to your ear and drive with one hand...my BlackBerry came with something like that as well. The iPhone doesn't necessarily need it, but Apple just gives it to you anyway. You can always buy that headset if you really want it, even though there are much better headsets out there for iPhone and such.
