How to fix my lenses on my digital camera?

I dropped my Canon SX120 camera without a case on, how can i fix it?

  • The lenses come in and out of the camera, but the screen only shows black. I've only had it for 6 days, is there a refund or warrenty that applies? What can I do to fix this? Will i just have to buy new camera at full price?

  • Answer:

I think this question has been asked to death...Unless you paid extra for an unlimited warranty, you are out of luck. Sorry. A warranty only covers defects in manufacture, not neglect. Canon would go out of business if they replaced every camera that was dropped.

First I would find a reputable camera shop, not just any camera shop and let them look at it, all they are going to do is send it back to Canon for you. Or you could call Canon. Look in your manual for the number, you might just have to send it back to them. Pack it very well and send it by registered mail so someone has to sign for it, you might even want to buy postal insurance. My daughter had her digital camera fixed and it didn't cost as much as she thought it would. She took hers to a camera shop and they sent it back to Kodak. It all depends on whether the casing is bent. Best of luck!
