Who is a technical recruiter?

Interested in talking to a USMC recruiter, have some questions for those who have been through the process?

  • I'm interested in talking to a USMC recruiter, but my cousin who is a marine told me it would be better to bring him along with me because the recruiters can be a little "tricky". My question is should I bring my cousin along with me on my first ever visit to the recruiter? And also what should I expect on my first, second, etc visit to a recruiter?

  • Answer:

The recruiter will be less inclined to feed you bullshiit if he knows that your cousin is an active Marine. Let him tag along, he couldn't do you any harm.

The way I see it with the marines is, you either want it or you don't. If you aren't 100% sure, don't join. If you have any doubts or fears don't let a recruiter try to reassure you. 9 out of 10 recruiters don't want the job anyway, so they don't care about you at all. Make the deciscion on your own.

Let him tag along, if anything it will save you from receiving the bullsh*t recruiters can dish out

You could bring your cousin along, but I think it would be easy to talk to a recruiter. Of course they are gonna talk it up a little bit because that's their job and purpose. Plus, going in and talking to a recruiter doesn't mean that you have to make a decision on the spot. Go in and get all the information you need before you make a decision as serious as this. Good Luck! I'll see you in the United States Marine Corps this next year after I graduate if you decide to enlist.
