Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Help?

Help...hand tingling..carpal tunnel syndrome??

  • Lately, my right hand and sometimes my left hand have been going numb and tingling at night. I type a lot on the computer all day. My friend said to look up carpal tunnel syndrome and I have a bunch of symptoms, and it said that there was a test to see if you have it: press the part of your hands right above your wrists together and if it tingles (which it did...right where it said it would) then you have carpal tunnel syndrome. Help! Do you think there's a good chance that I have it? Thanks everyone, and sorry if this is confusing...

  • Answer:

In addition to carpal tunnel, tingling in extremities is a classic sign of a magnesium deficiency. You can find more information here: http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/magnesium.asp -- and here -- http://george-eby-research.com/html/depression-anxiety.html .

It could indeed be carpal tunnel syndrome. However, the test you described would only be positive if you had it in one hand, not both. It also depends on what the cause is. There are different causes. The most common cause is "double crush syndrome", which is something that most orthopedic doctors miss. That is why it is imperative that you see a chiropractor for this to be corrected most effectively.
