How To Stop Tinnitus Forever?

Will my tinnitus end if I stop listening to music?

  • 4 months ago I went shooting guns with my father. My earplug slipped out of my left ear by accident right before I went to fire. At first I could barely hear out of my left ear and it was ringing. After about 4 days I could hear normally again but now I have a constant ringing. Ever since then my ears have been very sensetive and listening to music through my headphones causes them to hurt. I find my ears sore on a regular basis from noise and it's really worrying me. If I stopped exposing myself to loud direct noise for a month or two would my tinnitus ease up? Thank you.

you really need to go to a specialist about this, it's not something someone without extensive knowledge of the area would really know, sorry hope that helped

I have tinnitus and I find that listening to music definitely makes the ringing worse and makes my ears hurt, I haven't listened to headphones for a couple of weeks now and I'm getting a lot more used to the ringing. I would try not listening to loud music and see whether it helps. Also be careful about taking Aspirin as that can cause your tinnitus to be worse.

no the damage is permanent and there is nothing to cure it, you can only hope to NOT exacerbate it and make it worse.

Tutti Frutti

Probably not, sorry. Usually once you got it, you got it. See an ENT specialist, who may be able to suggest some meds for relief. Hope you feel better soon.
