Can you have a UTI without having bacteria in your urine?

I am currently taking Macrodantin for a bacteria in my urine. ?

  • I was NOT diagnosed with a UTI and it felt different than past UTI's i have had but my doctor said it was a bacteria in my urine and prescribed Macrodantin. I have been taking them for 5 days now, and my symptoms are so much better but not gone, should i be feeling 100% by now. I still have 3 days left to take. I have not even had sex in this time as i didnt want to make it worse. If i drink alcohol it makes it feel worse. I have a doctors app in 2 weeks to re check my urine to see if the bacteria is gone but in the meatime i am stressing alot about it, i have ahad a bad run of problems in the last few months.

  • Answer:

ALWAYS FINISH YOUR ANTIBIOTIC REGIMENT EVEN IF U FEEL BETTER BEFORE U DO. just because u feel better before u finish taking all of ur medication doesn't mean all the bacteria is gone. if you stop early and u still have bacteria in ur urine, they may develop resistance to that bacteria and the next time u need it, that medicine may not work. also, do not cut ur pills in half or basically change the direction for usage that was given to u by ur doctor.

Well, you didn't really ask a question. Are you worried about the medicine not working? You should ask your doctor about it. Try to relax and take care of yourself, because that will help you to heal in any case.
