Exercising help?

Help! Am I over-exercising my body?

  • I do high intensity cardio 7 days per week, approximately 390 minutes per week. On Mondays and Wednesdays I work out twice per day and it's usually extreme cardio+weight training combos lead by trainers. On the weekends I jog On top of that, I want to start the "INSANITY" workout...i've bought the dvds already. (For those who do not know what insanity is, you can youtube it...it's a 60 day max interval training program.) I'm eating the right foods and drinking plenty of water, so that's not a problem. :-) My mom says I have a "exercising disorder" because I am addicted to exercising...I'm starting to realize that I do infact work out too much...can my body be harmed?! And am I over doing it on my body? Thanks everyone!!

I think that over excercising is NOT a good thing because it will give your body a hard time later, you will feel worn out and tired all the time. Is there any reason why you are excercising so much? just for the fun of it? I would limit the excercise =) give your body a break! Kristen

wow tht is alot of exercising but i wouldnt be concerned. too much exercise can't be bad for you..jus give your body as much rest as it needs..

Wow, that is alot of exercising!! I'm impressed, and jealous, that you can make yourself do that much exercise. I really oughta, I need to lose like 15 lbs myself. That's right around an hour a day.....I usually do 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes a day, and I'm gonna add a half hour of dancing, so I'm gonna be doing alot too. Your workout does sound very good. Lots of intense cardio and weight training, with some jogging - perfect! I sorta have an exercising disorder myself. If you're not hurting, if you can keep at it, then I don;t think your body can be harmed too much. But really, you need to take one or two days off a week to let your muscles rest. In those days, your muscles catch up to all the work you've done and then you can see some change in the tone of them, too. If you're an athlete, and have been doing this since January is it? Then you're gonna be ok, just take one or two days off, and maybe do a little less exercise like once or twice a week. Oh, and Happy Birthday! I hope it was good! <3
