Are there any biodegradable elastics?

Braces ? Having trouble with my elastics?!:(?

  • Hello , So I got my braces put in two days ago. I also got elastics, I understand that their for over bites and under bites... I heard the longer you wear them the sooner you'll get your braces off ? True or false? The deal here is.. My braces dentist told me I must change my elastics each day.. I took them off and no matter how hard Itry I cant put some on. :( Ive been struggling for a few hours now. Yes , Im using a mirror too . Ive tried different angles from the mirror.. I judt cant :( My braces dentist said I only have to use elastics for a month and my braces for one year and a half.. But I cant put my elastics on I tried to much and nothing ! I cant go to my orphadontist or whatever to make it simple my braces dentist... because they live an hour away from my town they come 3days a month.. I think the normal dentist place can show me how ? right? But its only saturday I suppose the dentist only works up until monday-friday.. Will a few days of not having elastics effect me ? D; Heeelllppp ? Thank's !<3

    Ok, first question/answer: True, wearing bands does help you get your braces off faster. That way they can spend less time on your bite and more on your teeth. Do you know where the elastics are supposed to go? The dentist might have a little hook/pick thing for you to use--it gets farther back in your teeth to harder to reach places. If they can't help you; try using tweezers or something to hook the rubber band wherever you need it to go. Good luck :)

om i had braces and had to wear the elastics too! :D but shouldnt there be some sort of small hook at where your putting the elastics on? look again in the mirror and look at your braces, mabye your looking at the wrong one by accident? try looking at the ones next to the tooth your tryin to hook it on to, and you do know that the band stretches from the top of the mouth to the bottom? good luck anyway :)
